Mollies
offers hot weekday lunch specials
such as spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread on Mondays; Tuesday
it’s meatloaf with real mashed potatoes, gravy and mixed veggies. Wednesday
is BBQ pork ribs, served with baked beans and coleslaw. Better come early
for this one! The chicken enchiladas with Spanish rice and refried beans
and guacamole on Thursdays will rival the best of the higher priced specialty
restaurants. And for you fish lovers, the grilled farm raised catfish,
served with rice pilaf and mixed veggies on Friday, is outstanding. Like
we said, the portions are very generous and the lunch specials are offered
for only $4.95. Just about everything Mollies serves is prepared from
scratch in their kitchen. About the only thing they don’t do is lay their
own eggs AND there's
a nice selection of wine and beer at Mollies. Soft drinks, coffee and
tea always come with FREE refills.
For
a real treat, (and a respite from the dishes!), try dinner at Mollies.
Continuing that home cooking theme, their beef stew is served in a round
loaf of sourdough bread, full of hearty chunks of beef with plenty of
vegetables and a rich beef gravy. Or, how about their famous traditional
New England pot roast, just like mother used to make, with tender, fall
apart beef and lots of potatoes and veggies, simmering all day long for
that down home flavor. Then there’s hot turkey or beef sandwiches, "cowboy"
or "cowgirl" steaks, fresh fish, and much more. Dinner is served with
a choice of daily, homemade soup or dinner salad, rolls, FRESH seasonal
mixed veggies, REAL mashed potatoes, crispy fries or baked potatoes -
a delicious bounty of comfort food!
Dinner is served after 4 p.m. Big Bonus: EVERYTHING on the breakfast and lunch menu is available throughout dinner!
Mollies
Famous Café is located just three short walking blocks south of The Mission,
on Camino Capistrano, at the corner of Del Obispo. They’re on the side
of the Mission Village Center, facing Del Obispo. Mollies is open 7 days
a week, from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00
p.m. Take-out orders are packaged up for your convenience, and everything
on the menu is available. Do yourself a favor and stop by, where the locals
eat… at Mollies Famous Café.
