There
is no sweeter image to set the stage for
Valentines Day then that of Don and Mary
Tryon beaming when speaking of their 50
years together. Working together to archive
and preserve our History here, their relationship
is an inspiration to many. Mary once shared
with me, the secret of a long and successful
marriage is to show each other the same
respect you would show a quest. This nugget
of wisdom is probably the best marriage
advice on the planet.
For
every challenge that comes with working
in a business or on projects together as
husband and wife, there are two blessings.
Striving toward a common goal, and spending
long hours together brings a special closeness
that is most recognized on the rare occasion
the couple spends a little time apart.
Our
Chamber is filled with couples that work
together and love is especially in the air
in our restaurants! Walter and Raymonde
Gasper of L'Hirondelle greet diners together
welcoming them into their beautiful world
of European hospitality. Tom and Deborah
Bogdankski can be found together at Capistrano
Depot enjoying time together as they visit
with patrons. At Pranzari Grille Chris and
Stephanie Guarascio have not only been busy
cooking up magic in the kitchen but are
expecting a baby in Spring. Mollies Famous
Café is serving up home-style meals with
a smile from Phil and Georgia Kelley at
the front door. Ben and Sharon Newhart brighten
the days of many who pass through Walnut
Grove Restaurant for the taste and feel
of home.
Another
inspirational San Juan Capistrano couple
is Goldee and Joe Cortese whose bond of
love grew even deeper as they fought and
won Joe's battle with cancer. These days
Joe, the compassionate "Capo Vet" and Goldee,
his gifted publisher dynamo, are working
together in CARE to make a humane shelter
a reality here. Their priorities reflect
family, community and the knowledge that
life is precious.
San
Juan Capistrano is a great place to enjoy
being single too! Goldie and Joe can attest
to that, as they were long time SJC singles
themselves. There is quality of life here
in this place of historic charm and ambiance,
with an array of cultural stimuli, events
to enjoy year round and opportunities to
meet quality friends.
Yes,
friendship abounds and in one case grew
into romance. Photographers Lisa Renee and
Tom Baker were friends for many years, referring
each other clients and sharing shop talk.
When the timing was just right, these two
beautiful people fell in love, were married
and are expecting their first child in April.
Have a Wonderful and Romantic Valentine's
Day!
